Pillow pals, Cupcakes & Ipods!

I want a pillow pet!! I know you've seen these cute & fluffy little creations. I want the penguin, He's adorable! I've been so busy the past few weeks, by the time i get home i cant wait to go to bed. Ali ( our lead ) had a cortisone shot today because she has a herniated disc in her back. ( Get better soon Ali! ) I wanted to get in on the cupcake challenge ( hosted by Hoosier Homemade ) next tuesday ( who doesn't love cupcakes?! ) but i think i'll have to work 8-4 so by the time i get home it'll be 7pm before my cupcakes are done. :o( I might make them on Monday night & do the post Tuesday afternoon. Anyone else watch the cupcake wars? It comes on the food network every Tuesday night. You should get into it, if ya like cakes & challenges. They have all kinds of weird ( but delicious )ingredients on the fly. These people do have talent.

Im a little upset, I've had my ipod touch for about 6 months & the past few days ive taken it off the charger into my purse & to work. ( no good readio on in the morning & i hate commericals ) By the time i get off work & im ready to jam out...it's dead! Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be because we have wifi at work & it's trying to connect all day or is there something bigger?

Today is the only day i've had off work in a little over a week! I've been a little busy today though, but now it's time to slow down. For the next few ( 2 at least ) days i'll be working 8-4. I gave my giveaway packages to my mom to send off yesterday. She dropped by today & i found them in her car! Now the P.O is closed & i have to work & wont get to it tomrrow either. GAHH!

I was out today so i got some oil ( for the sewing machine ), fabric, zippers, & thread. I plan to calm down & relax. So i'll be doing some crafty sewing in the next few days. It's back to school so i'll be doing some pencil pouches. I'll also be adding a lot of unique & custom designs. It's time to get back into it. I love it & i miss it.

Take a moment for thank you's

It's after 1:45am & i cant sleep, must be that 2 hour nap i took from 6pm-8pm? I'm finding myself wanting to change speeds the past few days. If im not working im always hanging out with my friends & just doing anything not to be at home. I'm finding im wanting to slow down & stay home a little more. I've also noticed this week i save money when i work a lot (CHA-CHING!). That's probably common sense but im just now figuring this out. I'm not one for a full time job because i hate being in 1 place for SOOO long, but i've taken it upon myself to do more. My parents are getting older & because dad has diabetes, sorosis of the liver, high blood pressure (probably because of me & mom) & a few other problems he's on 16 meds a day. His doctor's advise him not to work so it's all on mom. Dad takes care of the house (& watches Lifetime) while she's working. Mom has a lot on her & she had an aneurysm a few years ago (she stayed in bed for 3 days until we took her to see her neurosurgeon in Chapel Hill. Her doctor did a scan & immediately put her on the table & as soon as he found it, it burst). I've been thinking more about my future & i want my parents around for a very long time (& I'm sure my brother does too). For our (my brother is my twin) past 25yrs they've made sure we had everything we ever wanted / needed with no questions asked. I'm trying to repay them by helping them out a little. Mom has the house payment, the utilities, groceries, car payments, insurance, cell phone bill, & never hesitates when we (kevin or I) ask for help.

On another note, my cousin Candace is getting married after 5 years to Steven! This event will be happening this Friday at 7pm. He asked her at Christmas & they planned it for July 23rd. It seems odd to get married at 7pm on a Friday 3 hours away from the rest of your family but they take a weeks vaca to Emerald Isle every year & they wanted to do it there. They picked Friday so they would have Saturday to be a married couple & enjoy the beach together & alone then come home on Sunday. I'm the maid of honor & i've planned my speech. Which is highly unlikely because i've got stage fright & dont like public speaking! So short & sweet is the answer here. Just a quick "i hope you 2 are happy together forever & i hope we are all here to witness the happiness & joy you 2 bring to each other's lives." after the *clink* of my fork on my (half empty) champagne glass.

I*m so tired...

I*m doing some card drops before i take a shower & head to work. Since I*m still doing a little over 25 hours a week at both jobs i dont really have time to do anything else. Yesterday i was in the Cop Center at Staples by myself. I haven*t taken the certifications yet but my manager schduled me because i*m good under pressure & i*m a hands on person. It wasn't so bad, i only got yelled at twice in 5 1/2 hours lol. I tried getting into some bakeries to tie into my pastry classes in the fall but i dont have any experience & they said the wedding cakes i make at home arnt the same as commerical baking. So I*ve resorted to Staples ( once again :] ). I just wamt to save up some money to help pay off these loans I*ll be taking out inthe future.

I am still working on the new project & should have some goodies up & running in a few weeks. I need you guys to help me out a little, I*ve added a poll on the right hand side & i could really use your opinions. I*m going to make some coffee & get ready for work. I hope everyone is having a fun Tuesday!

I need sleep

I*m so tired, i didnt really sleep good last night, I*m still getting use to working a "real" job. I didn*t work at Staples today but i did moms errands this morning. She didn*t call me until 12:30! I was relaxing plotting out my day then she called, shes paying me too so i didnt say no. We had our EMS auxiliary meeting again tonight, it went well. Although we dont have a lot of people to cover the Lake Donna even for Saturday {I*m working at staples until 8 because of inventory} so we are still trying to get all that taken care of.

I need your help

I am entirely to tired for 1:30am! I didn*t really do anything yesterday during the day. I spent the night with my cousin Candace Tuesday night & i didnt really sleep good, so i made up for it yesterday. I also got 2 new fabrics yesterday & when i got home i remembered i already have 2 other zipper pouches i want to make. I intend on making those today, if i do I*ll post them here.

I*m thinking of doing a giveaway, it wont be for another few weeks. I*ve got to get myself back on a schedule. Until then I*m pretty useless. If i was to give something away, what would you guys want it to be? Since you*d be the ones willing to enter I want it to be something you*d want. It would help me bunches if you*d leave me a comment to let me know.

What's What

Here lately i have noticed i need a break. I know my job isn't stressful or anything of that nature. But i got mad at my sewing machine because the thread kept falling out of the needle while i was trying to sew a pouch together. I think i covered every cuss word in the book { & some ive made up along the way because they add the fine touch to the situation} & the chinchilla was looking at me with an attitude too - so i let him have it as well. I said i was sorry then picked him up and squeezed him. He let me only because i think he was fearing for his life. I just want to be able to go to the beach & hang out for a weekend or a week. Mom & dad's beach house are empty for the next month, maybe i could set up shop there? I*ve also thought about going to the mountains to do some cave searches. A few of my friends went and they said it was awesome. There are people there that hang around and wont let you get lost. I know there is no need to ask Justin because he doesn't have any time off for work & he wouldn't like it. They said it's totally dark & ya have to wear hard hats & head lamps. How cool would that be? AWESOME! There is this 1 cave that has a 70 foot drop. Needless to say you have to ascend down & back up. When Heath went they said they stayed in for 10 hours and the guys that work there came to get them out. Apparently you can only stay in 10 hours then they make you come up for air. All i know is im feeling a little restless. I*m tired of hearing video games & doing the same thing over & over again. I feel myself falling apart & i don't know how to stop it. Do you ever feel that way? What do you do? I made a new zipper pouch last night but i was gone all day so i couldn't get any good photo's. It will make it's debut tomorrow.

Spotlighting ModernClassicsPaper

Last week i was browsing through etsy shops & came upon this shop. It drew me with in particular with it's color's & beautiful prints. So i decided to interview the modern classic. If these photo's catch your eye you should see the rest she offers. It was so hard to just pick 4 to feature.

My name is Jaimee McClellan of Modern Classics Designs. I’m a native Jersey girl now in Pennsylvania with my happy little family…my college sweetheart/husband, our four year old son and our Katrina Pup, Maisy! Having been born with the “creative bug”, I’ve been drawing, painting, crafting for as long as I can remember. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums. Right now, my focus seems to be on photography but I also like to dabble in illustration and graphic design, hence, my two individual shops: http://ModernClassicsPaper.esty.com & http://ModernClassicsKids.etsy.com . My shops offer everything from a macro shot of grapes to children’s custom stationary.

Everything inspires me…other artists, nature, everyday life. It all has an effect on you and what mood your work conveys. My creations are an extension of myself. What better way to connect with people? To have them find a piece of your art that speaks to them for whatever reason it may be. I think that’s really special.

It’s only in the past few years that I’ve taken the plunge into the world of sales. A friend introduced me to the world of Etsy and I’ve been having a fantastic time learning the ins & outs of Shop Life. Just recently, I’ve been lucky enough to pair up with some wonderful boutiques who are now carrying Modern Classics Designs. So, I guess I’m officially “on my way”.

Just Keep Swimming...

Finally a day to sit down and relax. I*ve been so busy lately it feels good to have a little time to do what i want. I*m so sore! Yesterday Justin & I went with his parents, his little brother & other friends to the lake. I tried my hand at wake boarding again, my arms are so sore. Justin makes it look so easy! We were swimming around after we had eaten lunch & a fish kept running into Justin. lol I*m scared of snakes so i said nope I*m done. :P

I*m working on some new designs for my t shirts & things. I*ve been waiting to do this all week. I made up a new idea last night & pitched it to Justin. He thinks its a good idea & he said he wanted a shirt the same as that one. Since I*m off tomorrow too i need to do some promoting. I think I*m going to drop my website. I dont have enough time to do it, etsy, blog, & to make stuff. If anyone outside of etsy wants an item you can feel free to e-mail me directly asking for the item & we will go from there. Some people have said they don*t want to sign up they just want the items. lol works for me.I*m plotting so hopefully in the next few days I*ll be adding something new! :) Keep a look out.

Heels Over Head

I*ve been joining more groups on flickr.I*m trying to do anything i can to get noticed. lol so far its been good! I*ve got a butt load ( thats a lot ) of new friends that are awesome & unique in their own ways. I*ve also joined a few groups that have nothing to do with etsy or selling my stuff. Yesterday was our anniversary & Justin got me flowers & Projekt Revolution tickets! He*s the greatest boyfriend ever! I love him. We sometimes argue a lot (because I*m hard headed & always have to have the last word) but i love him!

My mom was supposed to take me to look at a car today.. She called & said shes got a migrain & she*s covered up the windows & locked the doors. We*re going tomrrow. I found the perfect car! I just hope my credit will let me have it. *does the wanty hands* The color is called "Sizzling Crimson Mica" lol how cool is that? I*ve already had one of these. Justin & I shared a mica one before he got his new car. Then it got totaled :o( I miss it SO bad. I get aggravated every time i see one drive by us. So Wish me luck! It makes me smile to look at it!
I did decide to make a clutch today! Meet the Ribbit Prince. He*s rugged & durable. He also loves long hops in the forest.

I*ve decided to help my fellow etsians. I*m going to add a different person to feature every week. I dont get a chance to blog every day i may start doing it every other day instead of every week. I know a lot of etsy memebers are helping to this. I for one think it*s great, it helps other's get out there & if i can help someone I*d rather. So here*s my first feature.

Meet AppleCreekDesigns!I hung out at my moms house today to let her do my laundry. My brother dropped in to talk about the night he had last night. He*s plotting to get a 07 BMW 335i series. Thats what you get when you have a job handed to ya after highschool, He*s been there 4 years & he*s moved up but he*s slowly slipping away from it. Of course my mom is all freaking out because "it*s got to much power, him & his idiot friends will hurt themselves". Him & his idiot friends don*t drive their nice vechicles when they*re smashed. Well, one did once but he wont do it again because it took him 5 months to learn to walk again after the seatbelt cut him open. ick! Speaking of all things ick, mom showed us pictures of the tornado that we were in when we were 3. My brother broke his collarbone & had bruses on his face but i was stuck in the hopital for 2 weeks. We were found on a concrete slab that was a garage [[ together side by side, mom was 1000+ yards from both of us ]]. I guess from what she says i face planted the slab & the entire left side of my face was a scab. I looked like the terminator. I remember when i was in the hospital i had been there 3 days & my mom wanted to surprise me so dad rolled me down to the elevator & when the doors open my brother & dad came out. This is around the time mom started crying again. I also remember a not so pleasant moment. They had to swab my face with this cream 4 times a day & i memeber it burnt & tingled at the same time. Maybe this is why i*m so easy going & respectable. Because ya never know when life could be over & this is my second chance. I would post the pictures but they're graphic. hehe, on a happier note! I made another custom sell today. wooo!! I*m going to take tomrrow to get caught up on the rest. I have 3 more to do! I love it, it gives me something to do. So until next time, be safe everyone!
